Description

Chateau Musar, the Hochar family’s iconic Bekaa Valley estate founded in 1930, is renowned for its singular, long‑aged reds that combine Mediterranean warmth with a wild, almost untamed elegance. Their 2019 is a beautifully expressive young Musar, already showing the estate’s trademark blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan in vivid, aromatic form.
The nose opens with red and black cherry, mulberry and plum, lifted by subtle volatile spice, dried herbs, cedar and a touch of leather. On the palate it’s supple, bright and gently savoury, with ripe, grainy tannins and a natural freshness that carries the fruit without heaviness. There’s the familiar Musar interplay of sweet‑edged fruit, earthy complexity and oxidative nuance, giving the wine both early charm and clear ageing potential. The finish is long, warm and quietly exotic—unmistakably Musar.
