Bodegas Amaren Malvasia 2020

A textural white Rioja that shows just how expressive old‑vine Malvasía Rioja can be when it is treated with precision and patience. Sourced from the historic El Pomal vineyard, planted in 1912 at 515 metres with the minium vine age at 60years, the wine is fermented and aged on fine lees in a concrete egg for 14 months, with weekly bâtonnage, and then held a further two years in bottle before release. The result is a full‑bodied yet beautifully lifted wine: ripe pineapple, pear and orange blossom meet dried flowers, fennel, nutmeg and a gentle brioche richness. The palate is rounded, complex and quietly luxurious, balancing ripe fruit with floral and balsamic nuances, finishing long, elegant and impeccably composed.
